As I write, I am sitting here waiting for game four of the Capitals vs Rangers in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Caps are my team, obviously – they are the local guys and are on a bit of an improbable run because I (and everyone else) was pretty sure the team imploded in the regular season. Regardless of how they do, my favorite Siren is the sound of a Caps goal at home.
What’s that got to do with Teen Mom? Well, it’s not the reality series – they are a band who is also from the Capital City who just released their debut EP. What’s it like? Smooth. I’d equate it to that Nicklas Backstrom rink-length pass to Brooks Laich for a big goal in the series versus Boston. Don’t know hockey? In simple terms, it’s pop rock done with a flair for the seaside breeze and sun.
“You And Me” is my favorite cut off of the album and you can listen to it below. You can also pick up the debut EP, Mean Tom, via Bandcamp and then go like Teen Mom on Facebook. It’s almost a tongue twister!
