It’s no secret that Seatraffic are one of my favorite discoveries since beginning Sirens in 2010. Their brand of indie pop electronics is as charming as the day is long, and their most recent release “Tempo of Regret” was no exception.
I feel like I’m committing a small degree of blasphemy by saying this, but Moodive’s remix is actually better than the original. The mix showcases clearer vocals from Seatraffic (I finally know the words!), along with their signature Northwest rain-fueled sound, but the addition of Moodive’s surprising electronics (plus those 8-bit Nintendo sounds in the verses) makes “Tempo of Regret” jump in a way that I would not have envisioned.
