Nothing like a subtle ballad to get you going on a Monday, right? Well that’s kind of what Foy Vance has delivered with “Joy of Nothing”. This track rises and falls like those 80’s hits my mother used to play on her old record player when I was a kid. It’s funny, listening to those songs at the time I hated them, but ironically find them very endearing now.
There’s not a lot to describe track wise. A slow crescendo packed with gentle guitar, piano, humming and soft vocals that could put you at ease on even the most stressed filled beginning of the week. Enjoy it, and check out the album of the same title. It drops on August 26th and you can pre-order it on iTunes.
Thanks to Davis (whomever you are) for dropping this in my inbox. The single came out a while ago, so I would’ve probably never heard it otherwise.
