Diehatzu Hijets – pronunciation unknown – have released a compilation album comprising of some rarities and demos they had on hand from 2009 to 2011. It’s title? Goober.
While you’re going to be able to sink your teeth in deep on some of that wonderful garage fuzz that I’m so fond of, there’s some interesting variation to be heard on Goober. Me though, I’ve been known to fixate on short little scorchers to include on my “two minutes or less” playlist (not be confused with Thirty Minutes or Less). Its a whole different search within the search for new music for me. Meta-search.
With all of that said, “Left Alone By Yourself” did for me what alcohol does for the socially awkward – minus the morning after regrets. The track careens through your headphones like a runaway train, distortion and fuzz flying out like stuffing in every direction. The only depressing thing here is that one minute and thirty eight seconds is over very quick.
You can grab Goober for name your own price on Bandcamp. Diehatzu Hijets are working on a new full length as we speak.
