I’ve been severely out of the loop and relatively unable to maintain Sirens at the rate I would prefer for the past month or so. As is the case with such things, my inbox has swelled to near bursting. Tons and tons of tracks/albums/videos/whatever that I’ve just not even gotten a chance to bend an ear to. After two days of solid work, sorting to folders, deleting, and otherwise pruning the blogger inbox I’m still sitting on 611 un-viewed/un-listened to e-mails. I say this to illustrate that some things are undoubtedly gonna sip through the cracks.
On Sunday, while browing the music blogs I typically frequent, I stumbled on a few neat tracks. Enter Banks, specifically the remix of her track “Warm Water” by Snakehips. Coincidentally, this was a track I had already encountered in my inbox culling but hadn’t listened to. I had just held it back in the queue for later perusal.
I’ve never heard Banks, but I love her voice on this track. To be honest, I love every bit of this remix. It’s got enough kick to get you to dance, but enough sultry back-end and hypnotic rhythms to make it perfectly viable for repeat on the headphones while waiting at the bus stop. You could dance at the bus stop as well, that’s your prerogative.
Me? I prefer doing my dancing in private, but I’ve definitely got this track on repeat.
