The weather has been miserable here for the past several days. High 40’s to mid 50’s temperatures, heavy thunderstorms, and so much rain that a lot of the local area is flooded. It’s one of the downsides to living in a super flat area near a river, I suppose. Summer just can’t seem to decide when it wants to make it’s official debut.
Air Marshal Landing are from Toronto and they are in the process of releasing their debut album, You Used To Be Me, on June 4th. Their first single, “Little Town”, is all about summer time. It’s unfortunate that we don’t have a super warm day here in Kentucky to accompany it with, but I can definitely agree that I am pale pasty white again.
My favorite piece of “Little Town” is probably the bass line, particularly when compared to how bright the keys and guitar are throughout the track. While all the other sounds are getting down, exuberant and joyous, the bass just floats there in the background like a cool customer. It’s a very catchy track, and leaves no doubt for why it was chosen as the first single.
You can download “Little Town” for whatever you want to pay on Bandcamp.
