This track played at least four to eight separate times in my Soundcloud stream over the last few days, but I never really listened. That’s sad, because I am now in love with “Make It Up”. It’s been a minute since a track has caught me in this weird crossover airspace of being irresistible and tongue-in-cheek…maybe not since my extended love affair with Twin Sister’s In Heaven.
“Thought I knew what love was, turns out I’d never seen this stuff”, along with the subtle variations that are manipulated throughout the track couldn’t have found a better home – the slight 80’s, all fun, quirky production that’s backing the lyrics would entertain me on it’s own. Combined together they are divine.
I don’t want to over hype the track, but if I could potentially extrapolate the love I have for this one song I’ll likely spend a month solid on the forthcoming album. I’m not even making it up.
Pre-order the LP via Kanine Records.
