I dunno bout you, but it sure seems like neighbors were much cooler back when I was a kid. I mean, you could play in their yards, eat their food, and say hello and get one back on the regular. Folks aren’t quite so outgoing in the neighbor/stranger department nowadays. No worries, Brighton’s Home School have the recipe for finding your neighborly touch.
Comprised of dudes from The Magic Gang and Bayy, Home School have delivered three tracks to this point – one every three months. Best of all though, Art is Hard Records has this sweet postcard singles club that released a one-off from the band a few months back and the cut is an absolute gem.
“Mellow Neighbour” is a little melancholy and very reminiscent of a bygone era. It grabbed me by toes and flipped me head over heels; there’s something about Jack Kaye’s vox that stirs up nostalgia like so much old dust, making my two-sizes too small heart grow three sizes every time I listen.
