Thomas McNeely is from Asheville, NC. Recording out of his own home, he’s delivered “Common Year” and a handful of other tracks for our listening pleasure.
“Common Year” is poignant, with gorgeous synths underneath acoustic guitar. McNeely’s voice is interesting and his lyrics are more so, meandering through personal thoughts and observations with the ease of a young man and the discerning eye of one who has seen too many bad beats.
“I threw some words at a wall, but they were words and a wall, so nothing happened…” That’s pretty much my day in a nutshell.
