So how is Hoodie’s first release after his All American EP? Interesting, very interesting, to say the least.
There’s lots of new stuff going on here. The chorus is catchy as usual, but this time Hoodie is changing up his trademark style a bit with some new flows. At around 1:34 he goes all Twista on the track with a rapid fire verse that I can definitely get behind.
The latter third of the track features a-capella Hoodie and he just goes at it…then suddenly it morphs into a reverb soaked call-out that cements this track as a pretty sweet addition to the Hoodie catalog.
Hoodie says this track was to be included in All American but he decided to pull it out and save it for a rainy day. Free music is what he is known for, and he says he wanted to get back to that to thank his fans for their patronage. Do you think it would’ve fit well with the rest of All American? I honestly wasn’t sure until the track went all dance pop after the a-capella section. Now I can see it.
Hoodie is heading on tour with G-Eazy, The Excellent Adventure Tour, and you can check out the dates here. Download the track via the Soundcloud player below.
